Community Card Poker

Community card poker is now taking over casinos and home games in a very big way. This variant of poker is any game in which some (community) cards are placed in the centre of the table for all to share. Then all the players are dealt a private incomplete hand (holes). The holes have to be combined with the community cards to form a hand. The variations in this game come in the ways the cards can be combined.

The most popular of all community card poker variations today in Texas Hold ’em, which is also one of the most popular poker games of all. This game is fast taking over casinos and gambling house, reaching home players too. Home games have no limits and usually use antes to begin the game. Casinos usually use set limit games with a blind play to begin.

In this game all the players are dealt two hole cards they can look at privately. Then, a betting round takes place. After the bets are placed, three community cards are placed on the table for all to see. These cards are placed in random order. This follows another round of betting. Then another card is placed on the board after which another round of betting takes place. Finally a last card, the fifth community card is placed on the table followed by the final round of betting. The game ends with each player showing the best five cards hand he can make with the cards on the table and the holed cards. He can use one of his cards, both or none at all. Usually a player will win only if he has a holed card that makes a better hand than the cards on the table. The player with the best hand takes the pot. The thing to be remembered though is that it is necessary to have at least one holed card that makes a better hand than those on the table. This is because every player can make a hand with the cards on the table. The only way to improve that is with the cards in your hand.

Variations of this game include Omaha Hold ‘em, Double Texas Hold ‘em, Double Board Hold ‘em, etc. Community card poker is more fun to play for amateurs’ as more cards are open on the table, thus leading to a great deal of discussion.

If we focus on Texas Hold’em mode will see how it is in this field where hundreds of thousands of players who are users of online poker rooms feel more at ease.

Although Omaha is going strong, the spectacular Texas Hold’em maintains that it has become the modality that serves to distinguish the World Champion, is that in most televised tournaments (incuyo the Main Event of the World Series of Poker) is played Texas Hold’em No Limit. The online poker can be treated in two main categories on the basis of the mode of game played: tournaments and cash tables.

In the case of Texas Hold’em that division is less clear because most players who play tournaments also play cash games. Thus, it is necessary to specialize too because most players are able to adapt to the particularities of the tournament even if cash table players and vice versa. Texas Hold’em is therefore a great opportunity to enter the online poker world and that whatever type of game to practice (multi-table tournaments, single-table tournaments, heads-up, cash desks or tables full ring cash shorthanded) our learning process is ongoing and we will be using new knowledge to improve our performance.
